I’m just really trying to understand

OK, I am 25 weeks pregnant, and I work at an IVF clinic.  So yes, daily, I see women who are struggling with infertility, recurrent losses, failed cycles, and a host of other problems.  I understand that having a pregnant nurse can be hard.  That’s why I never mention it, I always have a smile, [...]

Evening thoughts

Sometimes, I think being a nurse( working in Labor and Delivery and in a RE’s office has forever skewed my view on life/pregnancy.
Even though I have been in L&D for the last 10 years and have seen just how wrong things can go, I never thought of it in terms of  me.   I never thought [...]

I really have to stop reading the message boards.  There are a ton of posts on there that talk about how they “just lost” the baby at 9 weeks, 10 weeks, 12 weeks……
Not really good for me right now.
I am going on hiatus, I am sorry to say.  Mentally, I can’t take it right now.

I was just having a moment reading a post by Baby Smiling.  Why do infertiles/women who have had trouble staying or getting pregnant, feel so guilty when we do?  Why do we feel guilty for complaining about feeling bad?  I try to be so grateful for every pregnancy symptom reminding myself that they all mean that [...]

CD3

Today at work, I had the pleasure of taking care of my friend while she was being induced to have her baby.  This is the same friend whose baby shower I went to the day after my D&C.  She had 2 miscarriages and is finally having a baby.  I wish I could say that I [...]

Family matters.

Lord knows that I love my family.  Love them to death.  But honestly, I will be so glad when they all just go away.  I miss my quiet house, I miss having my TV all to myself and not always tuned in to ESPN s courtesy of my father and brother.  I hate having to clean [...]

Normal

So I had my 2 week followup appointment today.  Everything seems to be “back to normal.”  Whatever “normal” is.   My bleeding has basically slowed, gone bye bye, just some occasional spotting.  Dr K tried his best to reassure me that this was probably just a fluke.  That everything was OK and that since I had [...]
