I’m asking.

My mother said that you should ask God for exactly what you want.  Don’t pussyfoot around.

OK God:

I just want a baby.

Can I put it any plainer than that?

Should I say I want to conceive a child with my husband?

But wait, I’ve done that…..

OK, can I conceive a child with my husband THIS MONTH?

Should I say I want to get pregnant and stay that way for 40 weeks?

Should I say I want to get pregnant easily like everyone else, stay that way and go on to have 3 more without anymore drama?

Should I say I want  C-Dub to get a job?

Any job?

Or should I say I want C-Dub to get a well paying job, preferably $50,000 and up?

You know, life really shouldn’t be this hard.

  1. This is one of my favorite posts I’ve read this week (and I have read many!)

If only it were that easy.

    Happy ICLW!

  2. I like to be very specific. I would like to get pregnant by way of my husband’s sperm through natural means. I would like to remain pregnant for approximately 40 weeks without complication, spotting, or any other scare. And I would like to give birth to a living and reasonably healthy child at around 40 weeks, again without complication or scare.

And I’ll have to add your line about going on to have 3 more without any drama.

(((hugs))) Hoping you do get what you ask for this year.

  3. I like this post. Sometimes for me it feels scary to want so much because there is always that fear that I won’t get it. Hugs to you and wishing you all the best.

  4. I think you just asked God for all that you want. Now comes the hard part, waiting on Him to answer those prayers. *big hug*

  5. I’ve often wondered about this myself! Things will get better – because they just have to!

  6. Beautifully said.

  7. it’s pretty clear. should be find. i’m sure that he/she will get on that. 🙂

…if only it were that easy.

  8. I wish specificity mean that a prayer would be answered: I know I’ve worded our prayers every single way possible, still waiting on my prayers being answered the way I want.

    Hang in there 🙂

  9. I really hope your prayers will be answered. I remember praying and wishing on stars for a long time while fighting secondary infertility.
