Worry and mayhem

Why do dead baby thoughts persist?

Here I am 23 weeks, 5 days.  And I am scared/paranoid beyond belief.

Baby boy hasn’t been moving as much here lately.  In the past few weeks, he has been a active little person, kicking and squirming away.  Now, there is almost nothing.

Now, intellectually, I know that really, baby movements at this stage are usually sporadic.  That since he’s not very big, I can’t feel each and every movment  he makes.  But still…..where is he?

I’ve tried to rationalize it:

Maybe he turned, and that’s why I don’t feel all those kicks now.

My placenta is at the top, and he could be kicking that instead of me.

Maybe I am feeling his elbows and hands now instead of his feet.

Maybe he’s just really active when I am sleep.

I am trying to hold on to hope here.  I am begging God to let everything be OK, and let me feel something, ANYTHING.

Or maybe I’m just really paranoid.

I just had to get that out this morning.  Keeping it all in was driving me crazy.

  1. Right there with ya! Ended up at L&D yesterday cause of pressure…turned out to be round ligament pain……DUH!!! I shoulda known that, but instead I freaked myself out. Keep your blogs coming…if it helps getting it all out, I know I’ll keep reading!!! 🙂

  2. Oh man… so there with ya (at 23 weeks). The further along the scarier it is in some ways, ’cause now I know there is a REAL PERSON in there and that real person could die.

The other day I got paranoid because I hadn’t felt anything in about a day and poked my stomach like crazy. Phew, a few minutes later got some kicks. Also got a lecture from the hubby about bugging the little one. Hmmm, too bad.

  3. Oh damn, I was hoping you would say that the DBT go away at some point! I’m 19w5d and scared to death, and am not feeling movement yet. I’m right there with you. If it helps to blog about it, vent away.

  4. Dopplers are wonderful in times like these. If you can get your hands on one, go for it! Piece of mind comes and goes so knowing baby boy is ticking will help with the worry. Drink lots of water, dehydration makes baby sluggish.
